The wind has set in

The wind is blowing pretty good now, and has been for a while. Sustained at around 10 miles per hour, it’s getting pretty bumpy out there.  Jay Przekurat, despite his young age, has as much experience on big water in big wind as does anyone in the Top 10 today. And even he’s been sent stumbling by the rogue wave or two.

Interesting note from the LIVE crew to pass along, these are the biggest waves Japan native and tournament leader Kyoya Fujita has ever driven a boat in or fished in. Learning to navigate big water like this is part of the game, but not a part that Fujita wanted to learn in real time with $100,000 on the line. It’ll be interesting to see how long he pushes it this afternoon before running back.
