Spinnerbait kind of morning

A little breeze and a little cloud cover makes for a good time to throw a spinnerbait. Most of the fish catches we’ve seen this week have come pitching some sort of soft plastic or on a topwater popper. A few more came on a squarebill. But with the perfect conditions this morning, we’ve seen three Elite anglers reach for a spinnerbait, and it’s working like a charm. Clark Wendlandt, Matty Wong and leader Brock Mosley have all boated multiple keepers on this bait today.

The morning was so perfect for a blade bite that, even though Mosley boated a keeper on his popper right away, he dropped that rod on the deck, opened the rod box and pulled out a spinnerbait. He proceeded to put together a solid limit in the next half hour, with multiple key fish coming on this bait he felt confident enough to dig out with the bass biting something else. These decisions are hard to make, but going with your gut in times like this are what makes the Elites elite. And it’s always interesting when several do it simultaneously.
