Riddle me this

“I wish I knew where these things go,” mumbled Cliff Pirch. The Golden Ram has a number of fish and spots marked from practice only to find a few cruisers and empty spots upon arrival so far. Typically, post spawn fish are gathered in an area where they can feed and Pirch has assumingely been in those areas but with no luck this morning.

He does have two bass in his Phoenix livewells that are just a shade heavier than five pounds, but he knows he’s going to need much more than that to be, “one of the big boys,” this weekend as he put it.

So far, the Big Bite Baits Pro has settled on a dropshot presentation which is how he’s landed his two bass so far.

The Payson, Arizona native is seeing lots of fry which suggests the bass are close by. Locating them have been a little tricky thus far.

So far this morning, we’ve been in the same areas as Jacob Powroznik, Drew Cook and John Cox, three guys that have a reputation for dominating shallow water bass. That has to be a reassurance for Pirch but the shortage of bass and bites this morning has been the mystery for Pirch.
