So far on Championship Sunday, Day 3 leader Luke Palmer has two nice keeper in the box that he entered into BassTrakk as a 3-3 and a 3-11.

The Coalgate, Okla. native is starting in his best area and has no intentions of leaving. A wall of clouds covered the sun for the first hour and a half, but it has gotten progressively brighter as the morning has progressed.

In his last couple of drifts, Palmer said he has seen more smallies start to show up but very few have been interested in eat his baits.

His keeper bass fell for a drop shot and he has also throwing a Great Lakes Finesse Minnow and a Tube.

While no other Elite Series competitors are in the area, there is a lot of local traffic surrounding Palmer with several boats hauling in quality smallmouth.

His second bass, which came just after 8:45, was sitting on the bottom before it race up to eat his bait.

“It came off the bottom 8 or 9 feet to eat and then ran 30 feet before I could even set the hook,” Palmer remarked.

When the sun gets high, his spot gets even better. In fact, the first three days Palmer left this area alone until the brightest part of the day.
