Martin and Walters with more on the line

Scott Martin came into this event believing he needed to win in order to qualify for the 2024 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic. He made it into Championship Sunday in the 10th and final position. It’s looking now like a 5th place finish or better will earn Martin a Classic berth. He’ll need around 25 pounds for a shot at it.

Patrick Walters started with the Day 4 lead, one 19-pound, 10-ounce limit off of the 100-pound mark. If Walters can bring that size bag or better in today, he’ll be the first angler in the history of B.A.S.S. to earn a Century Belt with both 20 smallmouth and 20 largemouth. This would be his third Century Belt, adding to those he earned on Lake Fork in 2020 and Lake Fork again in 2021.
