How will it all shake out?

It’s looking like 61 pounds, 7 ounces is a good guess as to what it will take to fish on Championship Monday. Kyoya Fujita is definitely in the driver’s seat, with an estimated 67-8 and a 3-pound lead. It looks like at least four anglers will still be within reach of Fujita tomorrow, needing him to “stumble” and catch a mere 20 pounds, then mount a rally bag for themselves worth 23- to 24- pounds.

Let’s look at a couple things that will clear up a bit today, the Progressive Angler of the Year and Dakota Lithium Rookie of the Year races. Starting with AOY, Brandon Cobb has done the best he can to hold onto the one-point lead he had over Kyle Welcher entering into this week, but it may not be enough. He’s sitting in 28th on BassTrakk with 15-8 on the day. Cobb started the day in 18th, Welcher in 34th. Welcher’s BassTrakk has not been working today, but if he has 17- to 18- pounds, he could flip the script and take a small lead on Cobb into the final event on the St Lawrence River next week.

Looking at ROY, this week’s tournament leader Kyoya Fujita is putting all the pressure he can on ROY leader Joey Cifuentes III. But the Cowboy is still riding high, unofficially in 11th on BassTrakk at the moment. An impressive performance to hold off the challenger. This will be another race that may still take three or even four more days to decide.
