Frazier’s flurry gets his day going

At this point, Frazier had the school of fish fired up.

Making the most of his first Bassmaster Elite Top 10, Marc Frazier enjoyed one of those morning flurries that many have reported this week. From 7:25 to 7:41, Frazier boated five for 16 pounds, 7 ounces and improved from his seventh-place starting spot to second with 88-15.

The first one to limit this morning, Frazier said the solid start was encouraging.

“I definitely feel good about what’s happened so far,” Frazier said. “I had a couple spots where I’d hoped to catch a limit and then go look for big ones, so it’s going as planned.”

As of 8:30, BassTrakk showed the second-year pro from Newnan, Ga. sitting in third place, 4-13 off the lead. Last year’s winner Lee Livesay, who has lead since Day 2, has three for 5-13.

There’s plenty of time for the entire Championship Sunday field to improve their positions. A former college pitcher, Frazier’s well accustomed to competing under pressure.

Maybe today will offer him a home run opportunity.
