Change is in the air, no one told Fujita

The wind has been out of the south so far this week, blowing with the current on Champlain, which actually flows south to north. This has accelerated the current. Today, for the first time in 5 days, the wind is out of the north. This should slow the current and change the fishing. But apparently no one told Kyoya Fujita that.

The Day 3 leader set the water on fire this morning, with a lot of activity at least. Fujita put a 15-pound, 8-ounce limit in the boat in his first hour of fishing. The only problem, all of them are in the 3-pound range. So, to hold the lead and claim the crown, Fujita will need to cull out at least three, maybe four of those fish to amass a 20-pound-plus bag.

Justin Atkins sits in 2nd, with the best start of the day at 17-1. He also holds the Phoenix Boats Big Bass lead with a 4-3. A few heavy 3s, but no other 4-pounders to report yet. Still a lot of work to do for Fujita, and anyone who wants to run him down.
