Anybody’s game, but not for long

At the start of the day, a rarity in the Elites existed. Frank Tally sat in 10th, only 3 pounds, 3 ounces out of the lead. This meant it was anyone’s ball game to start the day. As good as they’re biting, no one, not even Day 3 leader Luke Palmer was guaranteed to catch 22 today. And with Taku Ito showing 25 pounds was doable on Day 2 (with 25-8 to be exact), even Tally was in striking distance.

But if Joey Cifuentes does just twice more what he’s thrice done already this morning, this thing is out of reach for all but the top few. Cifuentes added his third 5-pounder moments ago at 9:20 (not yet reflected on BassTrakk). This put him at a limit worth 22 pounds or so, and within a bite or two of sealing the deal on his second blue trophy, of his first Elite season.
