Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission getting habitat work done

Pymatuning Reservoir Volunteer Fish Habitat Project 



Over 50 volunteers turned out at the 2018 Pymatuning habitat project.  The partnership project brought together PA DCNR, Ohio DNR, Pymatuning Lake Association, Crawford County Conservation District, Conneaut Lake Middle School and PA Fish & Boat Commission to build and place PA Porcupine Crib structures.  The structures are placed in the lake to provide complex woody habitat for multiple sportfish species.  Structure maps can be found at https://www.fishandboat.com/Resource/Habitat/Pages/LakeImprovementPlans.aspx

Beltzville Lake Underwater Video



Wood and rock fish habitat structures are placed in Beltzville Lake to provide cover for fish.  In this video the structures are utilized by various species including Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Rock Bass, Bluegill and Black Crappie.  The structures were built and placed through the PFBC’s Cooperative Habitat Improvement Program in partnership with PA DCNR, Palmerton Boy Scout Troop 20 and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  Structure maps can be found at https://www.fishandboat.com/Resource/Habitat/Pages/LakeImprovementPlans.aspx 

Presque Isle Bay Underwater Video
