As this 2025 season has kicked off, I’ve thought a lot about my partners. Riley and I are a great team on the road, and my mom and dad are a big part of our team too. We’ve all worked together to make this team run well and like a well-oiled machine.
But Team Logan doesn’t run without the partners that have stepped in and become not only support team members, but some of them have become like family.
Obviously, sponsors are a major part of this job. Without people deciding I am somebody they want to advertise with, it gets a lot harder to be out here. But, what I’ve always wanted to do is build more of a real relationship with my sponsors, and for the most part, that’s what I have.
I’ve made some business decisions to go in some new directions and those weren’t easy, but I’ve tried to be professional and handle those changes respectfully as they have deserved.
Even with those new partnerships, there is a feeling of being a part of families as this season gets underway. I feel like people are rooting for me, and if I need something, they are there to cheer, support and help. All of my major partners have been the same over the years.
It’s funny how some of the others made it so hard to communicate, and in some cases, I never heard from them even though I tried to communicate frequently. Some of those are people where I had to find out from someone else I wasn’t being invited back to the team.
But that’s business, and it makes me appreciate those people who are professional in this business. I love the people that I work with, and I’ve loved working with the majority of people I have previously.
I made a change in the boat department this year to Falcon Bass Boats. I started my Elite Series career in a Skeeter with JoAnne O’Bryant and then with Chris Brown, and I’m very grateful for what they’ve meant to me. But I had an opportunity that made a big difference for Riley and I, and I made that decision.
I have loved fishing out of this F20 Predator. I love the storage and the way it fishes, and while I’ve always been in a great ride and fishable boat, this has been very good on me as I compete after my neck surgery. Plus, Stephen, Tim, Lisa and the whole team at Falcon have become part of the family quickly.
After my accident last year at Lake Champlain, I was pretty open about how I felt The Leash from Precision Sonar had saved my life. Well, through that process, I started communicating with the Precision Sonar team, and it just made sense to begin promoting the brand. I’m using their mounts and boat accessories, and of course The Leash will forever be on my boat now – it saved my life and I’m grateful for that.
I started the season out really well with an 11th-place finish at the St Johns River. I had a fish on that would have put me in the Top 10, but I’m on to Lake Okeechobee and happy to get started well. I’m hoping to keep that momentum going into the rest of the year.
I am so happy for my friend Bill Lowen and his family that he won that event at the St Johns River. Riley and I stayed to watch the final weigh-in before heading south, and I’m really glad I did. To see him accomplish that after the season he had last year and to see the joy on his family’s faces was amazing.
Thank you for following along with me as we Logan Up for the rest of the season!
