With four teams now qualified, the race for the prestigious 2025 Bassmaster College All-American Team presented by Huk is heating up — and only four roster spots remain.
Stephen F. Austin State University’s duo of Grant Pursiful and Ben Burns were the first to secure their spot after claiming victory on the Legends Trail, earning All-American honors early in the season.

Joining them are Zachary Helton and Blake Wheat of Carson-Newman University, who clinched the top spot in the Lunker Trail points standings. Their consistent performance over the trail season propelled them to the top of the leaderboard and into All-American status.
With their qualification, Helton and Wheat become the second Carson-Newman team to make All-American headlines, alongside their fellow Eagles, Drennon and McCarter, who were locked in a tight points battle until the final event.

In total, eight anglers — four teams — will make up the inaugural Bassmaster College All-American Team presented by Huk. With four slots filled, the remaining positions will be determined by the Team of the Year standings and the champions of the Strike King Bassmaster College National Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops, set for July 10-12 on Cherokee Lake in Tennessee.
The Bassmaster College All-American program recognizes the top collegiate anglers in the country, factoring in tournament performance, leadership and academic achievement. With the championship looming, and only four spots left, the competition for college bass fishing’s highest honor is tighter than ever.
