Chris Zaldain didn’t take long to put his first fish in the boat – and it’s the right size.
He fishing the edge of a grass flat, and he set the hook a few times before connecting.
When he grabbed the fat largemouth and hauled it over the gunnel, he yelled in celebration.
I asked him what it weighed after he put it in the livewell, and his answer shows he’s feeling confident this morning.
“Nine, 10 pounds,” Zaldain joked. “I don’t know: 5-pounds?”
