It’s almost silly to say Mille Lacs is having an “off” day but that appears to be true when compared to Day 1.
By this time yesterday the Top 10 anglers in BASSTrakk had 20-pound or better limits in their boats. The half dozen anglers next in the standings had 19 pounds.
By comparison, only Seth Feider and Matt Herren have broken the 20-pound mark. There are a number of variables to equate into the reason why. However, the most noticeable change is the wind.
This time yesterday it was blowing strongly from the south at 15 mph, being pushed by an incoming storm system. Classic pre-front smallmouth conditions. Today the wind is relatively breezy and near calm.
