Yesterday about this time we started to see the anglers fishing in Ontario make moves up to the top.
I believe we will be seeing similar moves today. But maybe not from everyone.
In some ways this event is kind of circling around a referendum on the lake or the river.
Paul Mueller led yesterday from the lake. Clark Wendlandt was there as well.
Then you have Chris Johnston and Chad Morgenthaler who are mixing it up between the two.
Pirch who is within sight of the lake but very much in the river. And Brock Mosley, who is not only in the river but mixing in some big largemouth.
The thing to watch is how much those largemouth play. Then who is actually catching them well in the river. You have to believe that one day in the next two the wind could hurt the lake anglers.
That may be Sunday. When the wind is forecast for 14 miles per hour, which on the water typically means 20.
Plus it will be coming from the Southwest which has to be a terrible wind for those trying to get to the lake. Along with the current that will be right into the mouth of the river.
Pirch is close enough it could hurt him as well. If you are one of these guys you are trying to do as much damage as possible in the lake and hope for the best when the wind does come into play. Or if you are in the river scratch and claw and hang on to every ounce you can muster, then hope the wind blows in your favor.
Some of these guys don’t think that far in advance, others do. The fun thing about watching an event progress is knowing or guessing what could be around the corner.
