Carl Jocumsen is casting his all-white Z-Man Chatterbait Jackhammer in his big fish area, commenting that conditions are ideal.
“Low light and a ripple in the water is key,” he told viewers of Bassmaster LIVE.
Low light might be what he gets all day. Inbound are the remnants of Hurricane Delta. Today’s forecast calls for overcast skies and occasional showers, including feeder bands from the storm. Tomorrow the 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms will keep the light low all day.
What that also means is the topwater bite window of opportunity will extend longer, unlike yesterday when the morning’s overcast skies opened up to sunny conditions. That positioned the fish tighter to the cover, and concentrated the casting targets needed for the punching and flipping bites.
