Weather or not here it comes

On river systems fishing conditions can change by the hour. On this upper Mississippi River those conditions are about to change by the minute.

Take a look at this screen shot of the radar and you will see why. 

Ott DeFoe already knows the harbinger of what’s to come. Rain from previous days is sending water rushing across a spillway where he’s just caught a 3-pounder. 

“Yesterday there was less water and it concentrated the fish on the corners,” he said. 

As he did bolts of lightning lit up the horizon. 

“It’s going to be dangerous here in a little while.”

“There’s nowhere to hid out here,” said Jordan Lee, not far away. “I’m honestly more worried about that than the fishing.”

For him that’s indeed true. Lee already has a good limit aboard.
