Hometown favorite Patrick Walters is off to a fast start on Day 1 of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite Series at Santee Cooper Lakes.
In the first hour of competition, the Summerville, S.C., native has landed four keeper largemouth and is looking for his fifth.
With 6-13 unofficially on BassTrakk, Walters is in 23rd place currently. He is using a mix of moving baits to catch his bass.
He is currently fishing offshore structure looking for that fight keeper bass.
