Unofficially, two more anglers joined Bill Lowen (23-14) and Randy Howell (22-4) in the 20-pound-bag club just before 11 a.m.today. Luke Clausen caught a 5-pounder at 10:48 to give him an estimated 20-6 for the morning, and Josh Bertrand followed at10:54 with a 5-pounder that gives him 20-12.
It’s been said by some that the fishing gets better after 11 o’clock during the March spawn on the St. Johns River. We’ll see. Mark Menendez (19-8) and Drew Benton (19-0) are close to joining the club now.
