Top 35 cut today 27-8?

There was surprising strength most of the way down the Day 1 standings at Lake Lanier. Sixty-eight of the 75 anglers weighed at least 10 pounds. The average weight of the 361 bass that hit the scales was 2.74 pounds.

The field will be cut to the top 35 after today’s weigh-in. Stetson Blaylock of Benton, Ark., occupied the 35th spot after Day 1 with 13 pounds, 12 ounces, and there were nine anglers within a half-pound on either side of him.

Many of the anglers thought today’s predicted cloudy skies would make fishing better than it was on Day 1. So a top 35 cut weight prediction of 27-8 seems well within the range of possibility.
