Several anglers mentioned after practice how much the bass were feeding on tiny threadfin shad, almost exclusively, at Chickamauga Lake. And that’s not a good thing.
“Fish are really on the shad,” said John Cox. “I usually try to key on bluegill eaters. I don’t know why they’re on those tiny shad.”
Carl Jocumsen noticed the same thing. He said he tried everything he could to imitate those shad, but nothing worked.
“It’s like they’re eating them by the mouthful,” Jocumsen said. “A single bait doesn’t interest them.”
