Timing the transition

Brandon Palaniuk told me this morning how critical timing is when it comes to intercepting transitional spawning phase bass.

“Timing is a big deal for me,” he said. “I may cycle through an area 3 or 4 times and then get bite.”

Timing is a big deal when you are trying to cover staging areas—the places where bass rest in route to the beds—when the fish are constantly on the move.

“What I’m trying to dial into is getting into the right rotation of bigger fish instead of the two pounders,” he added.
