Today marks Seth Feider’s second bass tournament this week. In an example of how much he loves both bass fishing and his friends. Monday Feider fished a $50 entry fee buddy tournament with a pal at Lake Minnetonka.
Feider didn’t know until Sunday that his second-place finish on the Mississippi River at La Crosse, Wis., would qualify him in the 50th and final spot for the AOY Championship on Mille Lacs this week. He could have been practicing at Mille Lacs Monday. Instead he kept his commitment to his partner at Minnetonka.
“You could weigh eight,” Feider said. “We caught five real nice ones right away. I’m like, ‘Okay, man, it’s on you. I’ve got a bunch of work to do.’”
Feider’s phone was blowing up with calls from sponsors and writers. He needed to capitalize on his success last week by returning those calls.
“We ended up sixth,” Feider said. “I spent most of the day on the phone. I felt bad for my partner.”
Feider has plenty of experience on Mille Lacs, enough that losing a practice day in order to keep a commitment to a friend was an easy choice.
