The weather factor

While the Gulf Coast braces for Nate the weather on Grand Lake ‘ the Cherokees is stormy. But the good news is it won’t last much longer.

Heavy rain is falling on parts of the lake. By afternoon the forecast calls for partly cloudy to sunny skies.

That will make the transition of the bite and how it pans out interesting. I observed lots of topwater and coverage baits on the decks of the boats this morning. The cloud cover is good news for those patterns.Depending on the timing of the sunshine the coverage baits could help some anglers improve on the quality of their catches. Otherwise, the shallow water anglers using finesse and flipping tactics will excel if the sun comes out in time.
