That lake just to the right of Brainerd on the radar map is Mille Lacs. Yep, its going to storm. That means a couple of things to watch for in the coming hour or so.
First, boat control will be a challenge, if it weren’t already. In turn, detecting strikes will be more difficult, especially for the anglers using lightweight drop shot rigs in deep water.
Above all else, angler safety will come into play. These guys are smart enough not to take chances and become human lightning rods, since this storm is indeed packing some electricity.
There’s no where to seek refuge offshore. It’ll be interesting to see how the weather plays into the strategies, more from a boating and personal safety standpoint, than making strategic adjustments.
