Texoma washing fears away for some

We’ve been out of service for a big part of the day so far. In that time, we never saw Hackney catch another keeper. But that was a long time ago. We hooked up with Iaconelli and watched him cull. Then we switched over to Paul Elias, who was having a bad day. We watched him catch his second keeper, lose another and boat a couple of shorts. After that we hooked up with Skeet Reese. He’s been jovial. When we found him he had four and made no bones about it being four more than he thought he would catch. A minute later he finishes out his limit and you would have thought he’d just won the derby. A few minutes after that, he loses one that made him test the language skills of an accomplished cusser. And then he culls.

Long and short of it: there is one of two things happening here. The fish are starting to bite. Or this lake is going to perform much better than the anglers thought. Practice was tough. But things have stabilized and the bite is picking up. Already there is more fish catches on BassTrakk than many of these guys promised would be. Some of that is sandbagging. These guys always sandbag. But there’s an element of truth to a lot of their fears.

It just looks like Texoma is washing some of that away on Day 1.
