Temp drops, Lee moves up

As the back side of the cold front slides across the upper Mississippi River the air temperature has dropped about 20 degrees.

That will surely spark bass activity and the evidence is on the leader board. That evidence is aboard Jordan Lee’s boat. He’s got a limit and has culled back up to first place in BASSTrakk.

Lee is focusing on a specific combination of aquatic vegetation in a sea of green. It’s the perfect match for his topwater lure.

“That’s the juice right there,” he said on LIVE.

Lee is now wisely looking to expand on what is unfolding as a pattern with a potential duplication factor. He’s departed his key area and is checking on similar water not far away.

“The fish I’ve caught since the rain stopped have moved outside the grassline,” he added.

To me, that’s an obvious sign of being dialed into the subtlties of a great pattern.

The rain continues to fall and it looks like Lee knows what adjustments he needs to make. That’s a big check in his favor.

Lee has come oh so close to winning this year on the B.A.S.S. league, including a near win on Smith Lake, his home lake, at the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Open. Here’s a snapshot of how close he’s come, from season beginning to today.
