Similar results, but different anglers

Day 1 and Day 2 produced remarkably similar overall totals for the 107-man field on Chesapeake Bay. There were 338 bass weighed-in on Thursday and 330 on Friday. The number of 5-bass limits dropped from 43 to 36.

What was striking was the difference in the individuals who caught 'em one day and not the next, and vice versa. The top examples of the former were Jacob Powroznik, who fell from 6th place (15-1 on Day 1) to 50th place after zeroing on Day 2, and Edwin Evers, who also blanked yesterday and dropped from 11th to 52nd, missing the cut.

On the other side of the ledger there was David Walker, who went from 93rd (1-13 on Day 1) to 35th with 16-1, and James Elam, who zeroed on Day 1 and made the Top 50 cut in 45th place with the second-biggest bag of Day 2, 16-4.

It's those examples, and others, that had the Day 2 leaders feeling less than confident about another day on Chesapeake Bay.
