Second day same as the first

For all the talk about how the fishing changed from a cloudy Day 1 to a sunny Day 2, what came to the weigh-in scales yesterday was remarkably similar to Thursday. For example, 50th place was 16-4 on Day 1. The Top 50 cut weight after Friday's weigh-in was double that – 32-8, which three anglers did – Jordan Lee, Matt Reed and Mike Iaconelli.

Total fish weighed-in: Day 1 – 513; Day 2 – 510.

Number of 5-fish limits: Day 1 – 97; Day 2 – 95.

Average wt. of fish weighed: Day 1 – 3.20 lbs.; Day 2 – 3.23 lbs.

That last number is impressive since it's predominantly smallmouth bass that are brought to the scales. With a 3.2-pound average, that equates to a 16-pound average limit.

"Evidently, the 16 pounds memo went out, and I didn't get it," said Chad Morgenthaler on Thursday.
