Fred Roumbanis mentioned on stage yesterday a mistake he made prior to breaking off a 4-pounder during Day 1. Roumbanis failed to check his line and retie after landing a toothy mudfish. When he set the hook on the big bass, his line snapped and the 4-pounder jumped repeatedly afterwards with Roumbanis’ topwater frog in its mouth. Roumbanis finished in 92nd place with 5-13.
“That was my biggest bite of the day,” Roumbanis lamented.
Roumbanis may have gotten revenge today when he caught this 4-pounder. No word yet if it came in the same area where he broke off that one yesterday.
