At the 1:00 hour Brandon Palaniuk has five fish for 16-8, which has him tied for 15th in BASSTrakk. Of course he doesn’t know where he sits in the leaderboard, and in his mind he’s had a terrible day.
He choose to stay in the river rather than making the run to Lake Ontario, which surprised me since he won this tournament on the big lake in 2013.
“When I saw so many guys turning left this morning toward the lake, that worried me. I probably should have done that,” he said. “But there are a lot of good spots on the river where I’ve done well before. Then when I got to those spots this morning, other guys were on them. So I’ve had to adjust. There’s still plenty of time in the day.”
