Omori with a 5-pound smallie, and a limit

Takahiro Omori continues to be on fire with a topwater bait. He landed his fourth bass of the day, this one a 5-pound smallmouth. He made a short move before catching the smallmouth. This is where he caught three bass in four casts yesterday, according to photographer Seigo Saito. And Omori has now filled his limit with a 3-pounder. That gives him about 20 pounds.

John Crews is also hot  this morning. BASSTrakk shows Crews with an 18 1/2-pound limit, and it probably came on a topwater lure as well. That’s what Crews used to catch an early 5-pounder yesterday.
