Need gas, big problem

Fishing a tournament on a large, western impoundment has its challenges. One of those adds a rogue challenge to the tournament.

There is only one place to refuel on the entire 374,000 surface acres of a lake that stretches 231 miles (North Dakota waters are off limits). That place is Spring Creek Resort and Marina, which also is the launch site. Spring Creek is located at the far south end of the lake, nearest the dam. The farther north you travel, the better the fishing gets, or at least that was the prevailing thought during practice.

So that adds an interesting twist to a given day. Watching the fuel gauge is a very important thing to do here as the anglers equate how far and wide to run in search of bass.
