Myers with big start

Britt Myers arrived at his spot at his spot on the Cooper River by 8:30 this morning and soon after landed a bass in the 4 pound range. He kissed the big fish and shouted a jubilant “whoo!” to the three spectator boats. A strong start for Myers, and one that may put him immediately into the lead.

The air temperature was 36 degrees when we started this morning. Not exactly what you’d expect on April 10 near the coast of South Carolina. Steve Bowman observed this is the coldest morning we’ve faced since the 2015 Classic, also held in South Carolina. It was 9 degrees on the Wed. practice day that year. So cold that many boats were frozen to their trailers.
