They call this day “moving day.” It’s the day you have to make up for any stumbles or misdirections from the previous day. It’s the day you have to hang onto any positive ground you made the day before and in some cases get stronger.
So they call it “moving day.” It might best be described as heartbreak day. Half these guys will go home after today.
They will move out so to speak.
This is also learning day. It’s where we see who might have it figured out. This is the point where we start learning who might be a winner.
I’m rushing across South Carolina at the moment, wondering if this trip from Georgetown to the Cooper River is actually worth it. Wondering if it will be my last in this derby.
Right now we have two anglers in the top 5 fishing in the Wacamaw, two in the Cooper and one in the Santee River.
That’s a pretty good mix, considering this was supposed to be a Cooper River derby. At the moment the Cooper is trailing the pack.
The Wacamaw/PeeDee rivers are leading the derby. The Santee has produced the second place angler and then comes the mighty Cooper.
We get to see today, though, which area will hold up for the long haul. And learn which one can move these standings in a notable way.
