MDJ tops 15 pounds

Mark Daniels Jr. just put his fifth keeper in the box, and it was his biggest bass of the day. MDJ worked this 4 and a half pound smallmouth carefully, excruciatingly slowly toward the boat. When he finally landed it, MDJ showed the first signs of excitement we’ve seen from him today, with fist bumps and a shout.

This fish gives him approximately 15 pounds for the day. His smallest keeper is around a pound and a half. So he still has room to improve and plenty of time to do it. BASSTrakk shows him at 13-14 and in first place. His total could be a little higher.
