Justin Lucas is a native Californian, but he’s been living in Guntersville, Ala., for several years now. And he loves fishing Alabama’s Smith Lake, a noted spotted bass fishery. Lucas’ record indicates why he feels the love for that lake: 1) a 4th-place finish in a Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Open there in 2017; and 2) an 8th-place finish there in the 2016 Open.
So what does Lake Chatuge remind him of?
“It’s a lot like Smith Lake back in Alabama,” Lucas said, “I like it a lot.”
