After a long boat ride we’ve caught up with Skeet Reese, who had one of the larger bags on Day 2 and slipped into the top 10. Reese won here about a decade ago and we half expect that he might have found some of that old magic.
When we found him he was sharing water with Keith Combs and Todd Faircloth.
Skeet has yet to catch a fish. He’s ready for the first one and believes his zig may be conflicting with his zag.
“I caught then yesterday,” he said. “Today those guys are catching them.”
He’s still trying to figure out that little something that will trick a fish. But things might come later today with the tide.
If it does he might be in a position to repeat with a good bag. In the course of typing this, Faircloth then Combs have vacated the immediate area, leaving Skeet here to figure it out on his own.
