Livesay tops 100 lbs. at 8:16 a.m.

Lee Livesay has showcased his knowledge of Lake Fork and the tremendous bass fishery here in the first 91 minutes today. With an 8-pound, 15-ounce largemouth at 8:16 this morning, Livesay crossed the century mark for this tournament. It was his fifth keeper and gives him totals of 32-14 on the day and 103-0 for the tournament. Livesay’s previous two keepers were a 7-6 and a 9-2.

That catch gave Livesay a 20-pound lead on the field. But at this place, it’s not over. Chris Zaldain and Patrick Walters are demonstrating that. Walters has since caught a 9-5 big bass of the day so far, and Zaldain landed a 6-14.

“I need two more 7s to win,” Livesay said. It’s hard to fathom that a guy with 103 pounds would need two more 7-pounders to win this tournament. But it’s Lake Fork, where seemingly anything is possible.
