Brandon Lester started the day officially in 25th place with 31 pounds, 11 ounces. The unofficial BASSTrakk standings now show him in 8th place. That’s a big move.
This morning Lester told me that he’s pleased thus far with his performance, but with an interesting twist.
“I’ve been consistent all week but that just won’t get it done here.”
What?
Lester brought 15 pounds, 15 ounces to the scale on Day 1 and 15-12 on Day 2. Consistency defined, indeed.
“What I need today is another 15 pounds that I can cull up with,” he told me.
He’s got that opportunity. Lester is fishing a backwater area he believes has the potential for females to move into and spawn.
That’s his hope. Stay tuned and we’ll see if those fish show up.
