Just about a mile from takeoff we’ve found Brandon Lester and Gary Klein, fishing about 50 yards apart. Lester finished Day 1 in 4th place, with 18-11. Klein finished the day in 15th place with 16-1.
Klein is off to a good start this morning, with a 2-8 pound bass already in the livewell.
It’s calm, sunny and 59 degrees here at Wheeler Lake, with a little bit of fog still hanging around in the coves. It’s a beautiful spring morning on the Tennessee River.
