Some interestingly notable changes are unfolding as the BASSTrakk leaderboard just had a shake up.
Kevin VanDam has 19 pounds and Edwin Evers follows with 18-8. Rick Clunn has 17-12 for third.
Realizing that BASSTrakk coverage is contingent on cell coverage there could be more wild changes ahead.
But what’s worth noting are the two anglers at the top. VanDam and Evers are both skilled offshore anglers and especially when that bite gets hot. Remember those two last summer on Kentucky Lake, at BASSfest? They slugged it out on the ledges with Evers taking the title. This isn’t power ledge fishing but the key is a probable deeper bite has just heated up.
Did the shallow bite go cold as the morning feeding timeline closed? Will the best action shift to deeper patterns?
Right now I’d say we’re at a turning point in the day to find out. Stay tuned. This could get interesting if separation between the shallow and deep anglers plays out with heavier weights.
