Kevin VanDam has done gone serpentine on us. After stopping at several spots on the east side of the lake while moving south, VanDam crossed to the west side, made two stops to catch a keeper smallmouth at one, and has now moved back to the east side, near Aurora College.
If I didn’t know better, I’d think he was outta his damn mind, to paraphrase Maren Morris. But I do know better. VanDam has had three days of practice and three days of competition to scope out this lake. He’s knows exactly what he’s doing; we just don’t know what it is exactly.
VanDam is doing lots of looking. Interestingly, he’s had a spinning rod in his hand most the time.
