Yesterday when I approached Fred Roumbanis a smile came across his face.
“It’s a neat fishery, reminds me a lot of my home lakes in California, like Shasta,” said Roumbanis, who lives in Russellville, Ark.
“These are mostly pelagic fish, the roam around a lot because of the depth, alewives and blueback herring,” he continued. “I like fishing this kind of water.”
Roumbanis said it’s tough to stay on top of the fish but he is encouraged by an instinctive technique he discovered in practice. BASSTrakk shows Roumbanis in second place with 5-pounds, 6 pounds, 7 ounces behind Greg Vinson.
