This morning at the boat ramp myself and Garrick Dixon took photos and gathered details for the Lures of the Top 12 photo gallery. You can see it on Tuesday.
What stood out was a couple of interesting things. Soft plastics, either fluke-style or tubes, made up the majority of the lures. That made the crankbaits tied on by Gerald Spohrer, Takahiro Omori, Jamie Hartman and others stand out.
Here’s a sneak peek about the details of the lure used by Jordan Lee. It’s a new model from Strike King, a 5-inch 3X ElazTech Z Too. The plastic is more pliable, softer, durable and stronger. Like the name implies, it’s kind of like an elastic plastic that is really tough. That means baits last longer before they need to be replaced.
Lee is rigging the bait to a No. 1 hook and 3/8-ounce Strike King Tour Grade Tungsten Weight.
