It’s always about ounces here

It’s no surprise that many spots in the standings are separated by ounces. That’s always the way it is here on the Mississippi River, where the bass are plentiful but “game-changers” are rare.

At 11:20 a.m., the BASSTrakk standings provided a good example. One pound exactly separated 12th place Bobby Lane (38-12) and 20th place Aaron Martens (37-12). And at the top of the leaderboard, Seth Feider leads Jordan Lee by 2 ounces and Ott Defoe by 8 ounces.
