The Santee Cooper Lakes were off-limits to the Elite Series anglers yesterday, after three days of practice. During that time, the rains fell and the temperatures rose. Mike Iaconelli has begun to pick up some clues about what’s happened since practice ended Tuesday
“The water is warming,” said Iaconelli, who moved shallow and caught a couple of two-pounders early. “The fish have changed. The water temperature is three degrees warmer. That water is two, three inches higher. We’re still trying to get a rhythm about what these fish are doing.”
