Hudnall: spinning rods & wacky worms

Derek Hudnall’s most recent move was to an area he called his, “primary stuff.” So far today, the Louisiana pro is ahead of schedule with roughly 14 pounds in the boat. The suns up bright and Hudnall thinks the fish should be staged just right on the cypress trees. “I didn’t want to come back here to start the day,” said Hudnall, “These are resident fish and I’m worried about the fish replenishing in this area.”
To his own surprise, the Skeeter Yamaha Pro has done most of his damage with the spinning rod and a wacky worm. “This is so painful but it’s the way to get them to eat. I lost what could have been my personal best in here during practice and shook off several more nice fish.”
If Hudnall’s primary area will replenish and the fish continue to eat the wacky worm, the young Elite pro could be poised for a special weekend.
