Matt Herren is trying to touch every inch of a grass mat in front of him. Since we’ve been watching him for almost 45 minutes he’s hardly ever wavered from making a cast at this mat.
It covers about 40 yards by 20 yards.
“There’s a big school of fish here and for the life of me I don’t know why they aren’t biting,” Herren said.
“At some point today they will bite. I don’t know if I’ll be here. But I hope I am”
Meanwhile Herren is stubbornly waiting them out.
The mat does have bait flipping about and there’s history of good fish living here. He and Stetson Blaylock capitalized here yesterday. Right now, though, the fish are winning the stubborn battle.
