Greg Hackney is fishing back in the very skinny waters of Mineral Wells and he just had a major upgrade to his day, landing a bass in the 4-pound range. Hackney said it was a 3-pounder. That felt to me like he was severely insulting the fish, so I said, “Looks like 7 pounds to me.” To which the current Toyota Angler Of the Year replied, “I don’t fish much do you.” That got huge hoots of laughter from the spectator boats. The consensus in our boat is the fish weighed around 4 pounds.
That’s three bass in the livewell for Hackney. Giving him about 6 and a half pounds. That could put him in the lead.
